MIRLS - Michigan IR Lecture Series

Expanding Access to High-Quality IR Education Across Michigan

The Michigan IR Lecture Series (MIRLS) is the flagship educational program of IRMEDS. This virtual lecture series brings together leading interventional radiologists—attendings, fellows, and residents—from across the state to teach and engage with medical students through dynamic, case-based presentations.

Whether you’re just beginning to explore interventional radiology or preparing for your sub-I and residency interviews, MIRLS offers a unique opportunity to:

  • Learn core IR concepts and procedures through real clinical cases

  • Understand different treatment approaches and styles across Michigan institutions

  • Hear directly from physicians about their career paths, advice, and tips for matching into IR

  • Ask questions in a supportive, educational environment

  • Build a community with peers also interested in IR

Each lecture is designed to be practical, engaging, and tailored to the student perspective. Topics span the full spectrum of interventional radiology—ranging from trauma and embolization techniques to complex oncologic interventions, venous access, hepatobiliary procedures, and cutting-edge, image-guided therapies—highlighting the field’s versatility and impact across nearly every organ system.
